ADL"S or activities for daily living are vital for independent living, both level 1 and level 2 classes will assist participants in maintaining a healthy body weight and staying physically fit.  The social benefits include opportunities to meet and make new friends and build lasting

relationships.

The Silver & Fit community at Mile High Fitness is also involved in several additional activities such as monthly hikes, quarterly fitness assessments, Summer Ice Cream social, and Christmas Ethnic Dinner.

Currently there is no additional cost to participate in these activities and guests are welcome.  We also participate in outreach programs during the winter holiday season that benefit our local community such as our food drive for the Yavapai Food Bank and special snack packages for our military men and women.

Small Group personal training  (4-6 clients) is also being offered for

an additional charge.    Please speak with Marie Morrell for more

    JUNE HIKE EVENT

Our June hike is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 15.  We will meet at The Highland Center parking lot off Walker Rd. The hike will begin promptly at 8:30AM, please arrive at the Highland Center parking lot by 8:15 AM for sign-in and safety instructions.

Parking is readily available and there is no fee to park at this facility. You might consider parking at the gym and car-pooling to the center.   Restrooms are available.  There is a sheltered area for our pot-luck brunch afterward. Our hike will last approximately 1 hour.  We will be hiking the stretch pebble loop trail.   This is an easy trail to hike with descriptive markers.  There is an additional trail we will hike that overlooks the area.  Please wear sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, sturdy shoes, and bring water for the hike.  A spike tipped hiking stick will be helpful for this hike.  Marie will bring a small first aid kit.

Please indicate your intention to join us on the advance sign up sheet for the hike and/or for the potluck.   Guests are welcome.   This will help in planning.   You do not have to hike to join us for the pot-luck.   However, everyone attending the potluck should bring a cold dish to share and a serving utensil.  Marie will provide ice, tea, lemonade, water, cups, napkins, and table service.  In the unlikely event of inclement weather Marie will advise the front desk of alternate plans, contact Mile High Fitness at 442-1300 for details.  Marie does not have a cell phone, so if you have one that would be helpful.

Thanks, I’m looking forward to seeing you on our hike!
