Silver & Fit is an exercise program designed specifically for our senior population, individuals recovering from surgery or injury, de conditioned individuals, or for anyone desiring to participate in a low
impact/varied intensity aerobics workout.
Silver & Fit Level 1
Tuesday only at 10:30 am
Instructor Marie Morrell
AFAA certified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.
BodyPump certified Weight Training instructor Silver and Fit/Silver Sneaker trained.
AEA certified Aquatics Instructor
Silver & Fit level 1 is a 45 min cardio circuit utilizing chairs, free
weights, tubes, and small balls. It is low impact and low intensity.
The cardio portion of our workout may be completed standing or seated in
chairs, it's up to the individual. Level 1 is ideal for those who are
new to fitness, very de conditioned, or recovering from surgery or
injury. Balance, coordination, and flexibility are also included
during this specialized workout. Exercises can modified to meet your
individual needs. Be sure to speak with the instructor for help with
modifications.
Silver & Fit Level 2
Tuesday/Thursday at 11:30 am

Wednesday at 11:30 am: Instructor Kristine Edmonson.
Silver & Fit Level 2 is a 60 min cardio circuit utilizing chairs, free
weights, tubes, and small balls. It is low impact with varied
intensities; intensity and impact modifications and progressions are
demonstrated throughout the workout. Level 2 is ideal for those who
are currently somewhat fit and moderately active. Approximately 35-40
minutes is spent on standing aerobic conditioning with strength training interspersed throughout the workout; chairs are available for anyone
desiring to remain seated as needed. We also do some parter training
and focus on balance, coordination, and flexibility. Exercises can
modified to meet your individual needs. Be sure to speak with the
instructor for help with modifications or progressions.
ADL"S or activities for daily living are vital for independent living, both level 1 and level 2 classes will assist participants in maintaining a healthy body weight and staying physically fit. The social benefits include opportunities to meet and make new friends and build lasting
relationships.
The Silver & Fit community at Mile High Fitness is also involved in several additional activities such as monthly hikes, quarterly fitness assessments, Summer Ice Cream social, and Christmas Ethnic Dinner.
Currently there is no additional cost to participate in these activities and guests are welcome. We also participate in outreach programs during the winter holiday season that benefit our local community such as our food drive for the Yavapai Food Bank and special snack packages for our military men and women.
Small Group personal training (4-6 clients) is also being offered for

JUNE HIKE EVENT
Our June hike is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 15. We will meet at The Highland Center parking lot off Walker Rd. The hike will begin promptly at 8:30AM, please arrive at the Highland Center parking lot by 8:15 AM for sign-in and safety instructions.
Parking is readily available and there is no fee to park at this facility. You might consider parking at the gym and car-pooling to the center. Restrooms are available. There is a sheltered area for our pot-luck brunch afterward. Our hike will last approximately 1 hour. We will be hiking the stretch pebble loop trail. This is an easy trail to hike with descriptive markers. There is an additional trail we will hike that overlooks the area. Please wear sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, sturdy shoes, and bring water for the hike. A spike tipped hiking stick will be helpful for this hike. Marie will bring a small first aid kit.
